Subway Didn't Make It. Sucks for Him...

The anticipation was killing us. Doors were opening at 10 AM; we were there at 8. The line was EXTREMELY long, but it was worth the wait. The time actually didn’t seem that long; some of the local bands passing out merchandise and letting us listen to their music helped time fly by. Finally, after 2 hours of waiting, we made it. I honestly couldn’t believe I was there. I’ve heard so much of this. I hoped it would live up to the expectations put up by the guys I went with. And it did, I mean how could it not, it was Vans Warped Tour.

The 2 hour wait.... with some random people in the backgroud.

It was 90 degrees and above, at 10 o’clock in the morning. But that wouldn’t keep us from having the time of our lives. The first thing we saw was a sign and men selling sunglasses. The sign said:

“DON’T GET CAUGHT LOOKING AT BOOBIES”

Just because of that, I bought the $5 glasses. This was the only the beginning of, by far, the most epic day of my life. Once you’ve entered the gates, you see a huge, empty stage and a long, slithering path leading downward to what was Warped Tour; booths selling band shirts and other stuff, a food court, a water station, tents selling company promoted shirts, hats, and accessories, and the main 4 stages where all the bands I came to see were playing. I passed through all the band tents buying everything possible with the $100 I had. I didn’t want food; I ate before I got there. All I needed was water and music.

Some of the things I bought were my favorite band's tanktop (now hanging on my wall because it was ripped in a moshpit), an ADTR bracelet that had their famous "I Hate This Town" lyrics on them, and a blue foam finger that had "ADTR" at the bottom and the middle finger up, a hat and backpack that got ruined and some posters, but they were free.

After all the tents and blowing the money I had, it was time for music. I watched some of the bands I only dreamed of take the stages; Asking Alexandria (FAVORITE!), Attack Attack!, Of Mice &Men, Miss May I, The Devil Wears Prada,  and of course all of our favorites (My Second Favorite) A Day to Remember. It was pretty - scratch that - IT. WAS. EPIC!
They were last, and they wanted to go out in style (ADTR)

The infinite amount of mosh pits and a circle pit that left Shaggy with a twisted ankle, getting punched and kicked from the waist up, dehydration and exhaustion at some points, the most violent Wall of Death, half naked women (for the guys), and crowd surfing; All the events that couldn't make a day any better than July 7th, 2011.

Let's not forget the amazing tan I got afterwards... Not to sound concieted, but I looked good.

Intro - (Poem) Holdin' it Down for Shaggy and Subway

The beginning of sophmore year was a change,
Met friends who had no care for tomorrow,
Wild and Untamed.
Broke the rules, roofs were claimed.
"Bestfriends" is the label,
He's my crutch and he's my cane.
Don't turn this into something you think is gay,
Cause trust me... I believe we're all straight(;
Breaking hearts and taking names,
counting numbers, never ashamed.
"Hey dude, got any food?" No....."
"Oh... well I wasn't coming over anyways"
Doing something stupid was forever the game.
Putting all of our energy just to be in harm's way.
Jumping off of picnic tables and crossing highways,
It's not gonna be done if it's not done our way.
This isn't an annual thing, it was everyday.
There's more to come, but enough already came.
Those were and always will be the days.
Us risky pusskateers, all day, er' day.
Don't judge me cause I wanted to
show my boys that I appreciate.
This is Shifty signing off, still holdin' it down for
Shaggy and Subway.
